St. George Dry Rye Reposado Gin is an innovative spirit that bridges the gap between gin and whiskey, appealing to aficionados of both worlds. Launched initially in 2013 and reintroduced in 2015, this limited edition gin undergoes a unique aging process that distinguishes it from traditional gins. It begins with a 100% rye grain spirit base, to which six botanical ingredients are added: juniper berries, black peppercorn, caraway, coriander, grapefruit peel, and lime peel. These botanicals are chosen to complement the spicy and peppery nature of juniper, enhancing the gin's complexity and depth.

After distillation, the gin is aged for approximately 18 months in American and French oak wine casks, which previously housed Grenache rosé, Syrah, and Tannat wines. This aging process imparts a rich, velvety texture to the gin and adds layers of dark fruit notes, creating a spirit that's not only juniper-forward but also exhibits the malty characteristics of unaged rye. The barrels, sourced from local Blacksmith Cellars and overseen by winemaker Matt Smith, brother of St. George head distiller Dave Smith, contribute to the gin's distinctive profile.

The result is a barrel-aged gin with a lovely pink hue and a deep, rich flavor profile that resonates with gin, whiskey, and wine enthusiasts alike.
